Hello Sports Fans!
With the back pages of the U.K. newspapers all over the highest goals per game rate in the top flight of English football for 41 years, I thought it might be fun to look at the odds for some big scores in this weekend’s Premier League games.
Saturday:
15:00: Bolton Vs Tottenham: Both teams come into this game on the back of a win last weekend. Spurs put 5 past Burnley and must definitely fancy their chances. But the Reebok (or the Breeze Block, as the travelling fans call it) isn’t an easy place to play fast free flowing football, so how about a tightly fought 2-2? This at the moment is around 12/1.
15:00: Burnley Vs Birmingham: This would usually scream ‘low scoring draw’ to me, but in this climate and with Birmingham’s disappointing form of late and Burnley looking to respond to their critics after their drubbing; last weekend 3-1 looks a good bet at around 25/1.
15:00: Hull Vs Wigan: Another less than thrilling game, or so it would seem on paper. BUT, Wigan must be flying after their tremendous win over Chelsea last Saturday and Hull have lost their last three league games, a thrilling 3-2 will give you a return of about 28/1 for either team.
15:00: Wolverhampton Wanderers Vs Portsmouth: Wolves lost 5-2 last Sunday to an impressive Sunderland, but Portsmouth have had the most abysmal start to their Premier League campaign, so it is no surprise then there isn’t much value in betting on Wolves comfortably beating Portsmouth, so if you fancy a punt why not go the other way, Portsmouth to win 3-0 is 40/1.
17:30: Manchester United Vs Sunderland: Surely United will win this? The Bookmakers certainly seem to think so as they have Sunderland at a massive 11/1 to win. United to win 5-0 is appallingly low odds just 16/1! If you fancy an out and out gamble I would just back Sunderland on a straight win.
